Osh has been a student city, a centre of education, science and technology for the last one thousand years. Osh, a mountainous city located in heart of the historically famous FERGHANA VALLEY. Osh is the second large city in Kyrgyzstan. Osh is administrative center of the south-western Kyrgyzstan, and capital of the Osh province, near the Medical Institute, Osh State University (Oshsu) is one of the oldest higher education institutions in Kyrgyzstan located in the south of the country. Nowadays the university is considered to be one of the leading universities in Southern Kyrgyzstan. It was established in 1951 on the basis of the Osh Pedagogical Institute.
